A Daytona Beach, FL auto shop can finance alignment racks, lifts and diagnostic scanners with equipment financing, add a second lift or equip a second leased location with a term loan and equipment funding; fixed bay construction is excluded. and carry parts and technician payroll between large jobs on a line of credit. Each request rests on a dealer quote and the shop's own repair orders and bank statements.
An article from Marblepark Funding in Daytona Beach, Florida on auto shop financing: equipment quotes, a second location, the parts and payroll gap and the records a partner reads.
Alignment racks, lifts and diagnostic scanners
Shop equipment is the most direct case for equipment financing: each machine has a model number, a dealer quote and a resale market, and the hours it adds can be billed. A shop adding alignment work might price it like this:
| Equipment | Price |
|---|---|
| Alignment machine with a four-post rack, installed | $38,500 |
| Two two-post lifts | $9,800 |
| Diagnostic scan tool, hardware | $5,750 |
| Amount to finance | $54,050 |
Over 60 months at an annual rate of 9.5%, $54,050 is about $1,135 a month and $68,109 in all, including $14,059 of interest. The scan tool's software subscription, $1,450 a year in this sketch, stays out of the amount: it is a running cost, not equipment, and partners may leave it out.
Volusia County, FL had 319 automotive repair and maintenance establishments with paid staff in 2023, and general automotive repair (NAICS 811111) made up 139 of them (County Business Patterns). The rest include body, glass, transmission, oil-change and tire repair shops, each with its own machines: a frame rack, a tire changer and balancer, a fluid exchange unit. The quote format is the same for all of them.
Adding equipment or a second location
Adding a bay to the current building is construction and is outside this site's funding. The building owner can handle its permits and property work separately. Borrowing against the building would be a commercial real estate loan, which Marblepark Funding does not arrange. A second lift or other movable shop equipment can be reviewed on a supplier quote.
A second location inside leased space breaks into three kinds of cost, each with its own product:
| Cost | Amount | Product it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Lifts, compressor and tools | $62,000 | Equipment financing |
| Movable lighting, office furniture and removable tool storage | $28,000 | Term loan |
| Opening parts and fluids stock | $15,000 | Inventory financing or a credit line |
| Total | $105,000 | - |
The new shop also needs payroll before its bays are full. A partner looking at the $105,000 plan reads the first shop's bank statements to see whether it can carry the second through its first months.
Parts stock and technician payroll between big jobs
A repair shop spends before it bills. Parts are bought on order, technicians are paid every two weeks, and a large job can take weeks to pay when a warranty company or an extended service contract settles the claim.
Illustration only, invented figures: a shop with four technicians runs a biweekly payroll of $11,600. It orders $6,800 of parts for an engine replacement nine days before the job closes, and the service contract pays 30 days after the job closes. The 30-day service-contract wait covers 2 or 3 payrolls at $11,600 each, totaling $23,200 to $34,800 before parts are added. The $6,800 parts draw stays outstanding for 39 days at 14%, producing $101.72 of interest.
Shops in the county are small on average: the 319 auto repair and maintenance establishments reported 1,436 paid employees in 2023, about 4.5 each by our arithmetic, and 68.3% of them had fewer than five (CBP, NAICS 8111). In a four-person shop, one slow-paying claim is a real share of a payroll. For stock that sits on the shelf, such as tires, filters and fluids, the inventory financing page explains how a stock line works.
Shop records that support an equipment request
An equipment request rests on the quote; the shop records show the payment can be carried. Have these together:
- The dealer quote with model numbers, installation and delivery listed apart.
- Repair order totals by month from the shop management system, for the last year.
- Business bank statements for the same months.
- Parts supplier statements, which show what the shop buys and how it pays.
- For a leased shop, include the lease and written permission to install the quoted lift. No fixed bay addition is part of this request.
- Current equipment loans and leases with their payments.
Mechanics without staff are counted in a separate program. Nonemployer Statistics counted 927 automotive repair and maintenance businesses with no paid employees in Volusia County, FL in 2024; for a mechanic working alone, a year of bank statements and repair orders can carry most of the request. Separately, ZIP 32114 held 22 automotive repair and maintenance employer establishments in 2023 (ZBP).
The auto repair page has the full county figures, and the request form takes the quote total. Marblepark Funding passes the request to funding partners; a partner that finances shop equipment reviews it and sets its own terms.
